Costa de la Luz enjoys a friendly climate. It has more hours of sunshine, over 3000, and less rain per year than even the Costa del Sol. The name Costa de la Luz, Coast of Light, comes from the long hours of sunlight and the beautiful sunsets over the west and south-facing coastline.  

Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, which is marked by the proximity to the north of Africa, in winter temperatures seldom fall below 10° C (50°F), easily reaching 20°C (68°F) at noon. And thanks to the Atlantic breeze, maximum temperatures in summer seldom rise above 35°C (95 °F).
